Pairs of Alternative Exterior Angles made by Transversal
As we know that angles outside the two lines are called exterior angles. Alternate exterior angles means, angles outside the two lines but on the opposite side of transversal.

In the above diagram, Pairs of Alternative Exterior Angles are as follows:

∠ 1 and ∠ 7 (highlighted in orange) - Pair 1

∠ 2 and ∠ 8 (highlighted in green) - Pair 2

As the angles are two, we also called them as pair.
