 Before you understand, how to convert decimal into percentage, you must know: How to convert decimal into fraction ? Steps to convert decimal into percentage. Step 1 : convert decimal into fraction Step 2 : Multiply the fraction ( from step 1) by 100 Step 3 : Solve by cross multiplication and division method Try the following examples to understand better. Example - 1 Convert decimal 0.27 into percentage Solution - Steps for conversion:- Step 1:- convert decimal into fraction and after conversion we get = 27/100 Step 2 :- Multiply the above fraction by 100 and we get = 27/100 X 100 Step 3 :- Solve by cross multiplication & division method = 27% Therefore,decimal 0.27 will be written as 27% after conversion Example 2 : Convert decimal 0.9 into percentage. Solution : Steps for conversion:- Step 1 : convert decimal into fraction and after conversion we get = 9/10 Step 2 : Multiply the above fraction by 100 and we get = (9/10) X 100 Step 3 : Solve by cross multiplication & division method On solving above we get: = 90% Therefore, decimal 0.9 is written as 90% after conversion Example 3: Convert decimal 1.23 into percentage. Solution : Steps for conversion:- Step 1 : convert decimal into fraction and after conversion we get = 123/100 Step 2 : Multiply the above fraction by 100 and we get = (123/100) X 100 Step 3 : Solve by cross multiplication & division method On solving above we get: = 123% Therefore, decimal 1.23 is written as 123% after conversion
