Construct Congruent Angles with the Help of Compass

Congruent Angles (compass)

Below figure represent construction of a Congruent(same) Angle to a given Angle



In the above figure,
we have an Angle ABC and we have to construct a Congruent Angle and this is done in the following steps.


1). Place metal point of compass at B of Angle ABC

2). With convenient radius draw and arc which meet BC at E and BA at D.

3). Now, draw a line segment QR of any convenient length

4). With Q as center draw an arc (of same radius as of step 2), which meet QR at T

5). Measure length between two points D and E with the help of compass

6). And with this length, from point T draw another arc which cut previous arc (of step 4) at point S

7). Join QS and extend it upto point P

Therefore, we get an Angle PQR which is congruent to Angle ABC
