## Define Arithmetic Mean - find mean from given data

 Formula: Arithmetic Mean = (Sum of Observations) / (Number of Observations) Arithmetic Mean is known as Mean or Average Following are some examples Example 1 = Find the Arithmetic Mean of given numbers 10, 20, 30, 40. Answer = The proceed is as :- Sum of observations = 10 + 20 + 30 + 40 = 100 Number of observations = 4 Arithmetic Mean = sum of observations / number of observations Arithmetic Mean = 100 / 4 = 25 Example 2 = Find the mean of first five natural numbers. Answer = First Five Natural Numbers = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Mean = sum of first five natural numbers / number of natural numbers Mean = (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5) / 5 Mean = 15 / 5 = 3 Example 3 = Mark obtained by 4 student in a class are 20, 35, 42, 13, Find the average marks obtained by them. Answer = Marks obtained = 20, 35, 42,13 Average Marks Obtained = sum of marks / number of students = (20 + 35 + 42 + 13) / 4 = 110 / 4 = 27.5
