Define Pythagoras Theorem : Solved Examples

Sum of Two Sides Angle Sum Property Angles opposite to equal sides of triangle are equal Angle opposite to longer side is greater Pythagoras Theorem
Exterior Angle Property of a Triangle Mid point property of Triangle Triangles on same base & between same parallel lines

Length of three sides of a triangle are 10 cm, 24 cm and 26 cm. check whether this triangle is a right angle triangle ?
As given in the question; length of three sides of a triangle are 10 cm, 24 cm & 26 cm. And we know that hypotenuse is the longest side, so:

Hypotenuse = 26 cm
Side 1 = 10 cm
Side 2 = 24 cm

Apply Pythagoras Theorem and we get:

(Hypotenuse)2 = (side 1)2 + (side 2)2

Put the values of hypotenuse, side 1 & side 2 from above and we get

(26)2 = (10)2 + (24)2

Find squares and we get:

676 = 100 + 576

Solve addition expression on R.H.S. and we get

676 = 676

Since L.H.S. = R.H.S. and shows that Pythagoras Theorem holds true, therefore:
A triangle with length of three sides as 10 cm, 24 cm and 26 cm is a right angled triangle.
