Least Common Multiple (LCM) : Solved Examples

Prime Factorisation Method Division Method

Find a three digit number which is exactly divisible by 4, 8 & 12
First find the LCM of given numbers 4, 8 & 12 and we get

LCM of 4, 8 & 12 = 24

Here we can see that 24 is a two digit number but we need to find a three digit number so we will find multiple of 24, as shown below:

24 X 2 = 48
24 X 3 = 72
24 & 4 = 96
24 X 5 = 120

Therefore, 120 is the smallest three digit number which is divisible by 4, 8 & 12.
