Least Common Multiple (LCM) : Solved Examples

Prime Factorisation Method Division Method

Find the least number which when divided by 12 & 18 leaves remainder 10 in each case.
First find the LCM of 12 & 18 and we get:
LCM of 12 & 18 = 36

Now we know that if we divide 36 by 12 & 18, we gets reminder as Zero, but as per the question we need a number which when divided by 12 & 18 leave remainder 10.

Therefore, we will add 10 to 36 and we get:

Required number = 46
