Constant as Coefficient of Variable

Constant as Coefficient of Variable | Variable as Coefficient of Variable |

Before you go through this topice, you must know What are Constants and Varibles(both these are available in this site)

Constant as Coefficients of variable :-
This situtation occurs when an algebraic expression contains a constant and only one variable.

Following examples can further explain How a Constant is said to be a Coefficient of a Variable -

Example 1 = Find the coefficient of a variable x in algebraic expression 4x
Answer = The given algebraic expression 4x contains:-
constant = 4 and variable = x.
So, constant 4 is said to be the coefficient of the variable x.

Example 2 = Find the coefficient of a variable e in algebraic expression 95e
Answer = The given algebraic expression 95e contains:-
constant = 95 and variable = e.
So, constant 95 is said to be the coefficient of the variable e.

Example 3 = Find the coefficient of a variable z in algebraic expression z
Answer = The given algebraic expression z contains:-
constant = 1(since 1 × z = z) and variable = z.
So, constant 1 is said to be the coefficient of the variable z.

Example 4 = Find the coefficient of a variable x in algebraic expression 564x
Answer = The given algebraic expression 564x contain:-
constant = 564 and variable = x.
So, constant 564 is said to be the coefficient of the variable x.
